My Heart Bleeds with Sorrow
My heart bleeds with sorrow, feeling cold and hollow. The pain’s so severe, it’s almost numb. I don’t understand how the trauma begun.
This heavy heart weighs me down, That’s why I wear this solemn frown. Yet I know that strength will see me through When I cherish memories of you.
I have the faith to carry on, The wounds shall heal, though scars live on. The tales and stories will always be there, Your legacy and joy, a gift to share.
God is my strength, and this I know. I pray your memory shall continue to grow.

The Journey of Healing Through Sorrow
Grief is an undeniable truth of life. It pierces the heart, shakes the soul, and can leave one feeling lost and uncertain. The wounds of loss do not vanish overnight, and even as time passes, the echoes of grief may still resurface.
But within the sorrow, there is a key—one that leads to healing. The depth of our grief is a reflection of the depth of our love. When we embrace this understanding, we begin to shift our focus from what is lost to what remains: the beautiful memories, the love shared, and the legacy left behind.
Healing does not mean forgetting. It means choosing to carry the love forward. It means finding the strength to open our hearts again, even in the face of pain. When we use our pain as a guidepost rather than a roadblock, we begin to unlock the door to recovery.
If you find yourself weighed down by sorrow, remember this: You hold the key. The key to acceptance, to cherished memories, and to healing. When the burden feels too heavy, lean into faith, lean into love, and trust that the path to peace is one step at a time.
Side Note: A Dedication
This poem is dedicated to my dear friend, Karen, during her time of mourning. May she find comfort in knowing that love never truly leaves us—it transforms, guiding us through life like unseen guardian angels. We are not meant to journey through loss without learning from it. While life’s trials are not perfect, they offer lessons wrapped in the whispers of those who have gone before us.
With love and light, Patricia Freudenberg
