Roses are red. Violets are blue. Life is a mystery. This is true.
I wonder, I stare, Deep in the night. I wake in the morning, And what a delight.
And when I realize that you are gone, My heart sinks to the beyond. Beyond the mystery, sometimes despair— I always wonder, are you there?
I have breath and I have life, With appreciation, I battle my strife. I hope, I pray, and this I know— That when it’s time, we all shall know.
The mysteries of life are a beautiful gift, To cherish the love, the infinite shift.

The Mystery of Life and the Afterlife
This poem reflects the deep mystery of life—its fleeting moments, its beauty, and the ever-present question of what lies beyond. From a Christian perspective, the belief in an afterlife brings comfort, a sense of continuity, and hope that love never truly ends.
Yet, beyond any one faith, there is an undeniable truth: our souls carry the essence of who we are. Love, memory, and connection are energies that do not simply vanish. They transform, they linger, they guide us. In moments of stillness, in whispers of the wind, in the warmth of a sudden memory, we feel the presence of those who have passed.
But what does the afterlife mean to you?
Do you believe in spiritual continuation? In reunion? In the infinite journey of the soul? These are questions that we all must face, for life is a mystery—bittersweet yet profound, unknown yet full of promise.
Take a moment today to reflect. What is life to you? What is legacy? What is the soul’s journey beyond the veil?
As we navigate grief, poetry allows us to find solace in the unknown. It gives us the words when words feel lost. It connects our hearts to those we love, past and present, and reminds us that love, above all, is eternal.
With love and light,
