“Light The Night” A Beautiful Event of Light and Legacy
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, I will be joining thousands of others at Blood Cancer United (formally The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) Light The Night Walk at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York.
This inspiring event is more than a walk—it’s a night filled with lanterns of love, remembrance, and hope.
- White lanterns honor survivors.
- Red lanterns show support.
- Gold lanterns are carried in memory of loved ones lost.
Together, these lights illuminate the darkness of cancer and create a shared space of healing, reflection, and unity.
Fundraising Goal
I’ve set a minimum personal goal of $1,000, and every dollar counts.
But I dream bigger. One day, I hope to sponsor the Remembrance Tent—a sacred space at Light The Night dedicated to honoring those we’ve lost. Sponsorship for the tent is $75,000, and while that may feel like a distant milestone, I believe that every goal starts one step at a time, one dollar at a time.
Your generosity helps bring this vision closer, and more importantly, it provides life-saving research and patient support to families today.

My Rotary Commitment
As Secretary and Chair-Elect for the Rotary Club of Inner Peace (Club #223443), I’m proud to also represent Rotary in this mission. In partnership as a club member and as a Paul Harris Fellow, I embrace the Rotary Foundation’s core pillars of giving—time, talent, and treasure—all of which align with supporting and eradicating disease.
This event is not only a personal commitment but also an extension of Rotary’s global vision: to create lasting change in our communities and around the world.
Quote of the Day
“A single lantern may light the path, but together our lights can heal the world—one dollar, one step, one act of love at a time.”
— Patricia D. Freudenberg
Reflection Prompt
What “light” can you shine today—in memory, in gratitude, or in support—that could bring comfort or hope to another person?
Personal Reflection
As the Founder & CEO of Miss-U-Gram®, my company’s very foundation rests on our slogan: “Everybody Wants To Be Remembered.” I honor the survivors, I honor the brave young lives, I honor those I knew personally, and I honor those who fought but could not overcome.
This cause is deeply personal for me. I walk for a family member who is a survivor, for a young adolescent client I once guided who has since passed away, and for the countless children and young adults I’ve seen touched by blood cancers. However my cause is not limited to children—I also walk in honor of the many adults whose lives have been impacted, fought bravely, and in some cases, were cut too short by this disease.
And as a Rotarian, I stand in solidarity with the mission of eradicating disease while also honoring those who have transitioned. This is not only a fundraiser—it is a commitment to hope, healing, and legacy.
With gratitude and legacy,
Patricia D. Freudenberg
