Grief Recovery Newsletter

Life is often compared to a race, but in truth, it is more like a long game. A strategy. A pilgrimage.
The long game requires patience, strategy, and goal setting. Most importantly, it requires a mindset. Because when you play the long game, you keep it moving. You don’t get stuck.
The short game, of course, has its appeal. Quick fixes, fast relief, instant gratification. But sometimes, the short game brings you to disaster even faster. Whether through substances, food, or simply giving up, the short game may ease the moment, but it does not sustain the journey.
The long game matters because the journey itself is living. And while none of us are promised tomorrow—a truth we all know, though it may sound like a cliché—the long game still brings peace. It gives us hope, direction, and the reminder that our spirit continues even beyond today.
When we think of life as a long game, we begin to make choices not only for survival, but for legacy. We create aspirations, nurture dreams, and live in alignment with what matters most.
So pause. Think twice. Consider your actions, your state of mind, and your beliefs.
Because while the short game ends quickly, the long game lives on—in memory, in love, and in spirit.
Quote of the Day
