Grief Recovery

The Pilgrimage

Written by Patricia D. Freudenberg

Grief is often described as a journey, and I call it a pilgrimage. It is a walk, a step by step passage through terrain that is both familiar and unfamiliar. This journey is not only about loss, it is about self discovery. Especially in the early stages, but not limited to them, grief can open us to new perspectives, to finding the silver lining. Life, as we know, is bittersweet. Yet in this tension of joy and sorrow, we are given an invitation to build again.

Today, I want to share with you wisdom from Neville Goddard’s Feeling is the Secret, offered here as a reflection.

Book Reflection: Feeling is the Secret

Goddard teaches that consciousness is the foundation of everything, both the cause and the substance of our reality. To shape our world, we must understand the relationship between the conscious and the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is personal, selective, and generates ideas.

The subconscious mind is impersonal, receptive, and gives form to those ideas.

The conscious impresses, the subconscious expresses. When we imagine, feel, and choose an idea as true, the subconscious accepts it and brings it into form. It does not question, it simply manifests what is impressed upon it.

Therefore, our creative power lies in what we choose to think and feel. Ideas coupled with emotion take root in the subconscious, becoming the seeds of our lived reality.

This teaching reminds us that while grief may bring circumstances outside of our control, our inner world remains a sacred place of power. Healing and rebuilding begin with the awareness of what we choose to dwell on.

Closing Thoughts

This sharing is offered for personal development and inward change. We cannot change others, nor can we undo loss. What we can do is nurture the soil of our own consciousness, planting seeds of legacy, love, and remembrance, so that we may live a life to be remembered.
